More than a month ago, I asked the question, “Will Manning finally wear a Super Bowl ring this year?” We’ll know the answer to that question on Feb 4th of this year. Peyton Manning was responsible for the biggest comeback in NFL conference title-game history when the Colts beat the Patriots 38-34 in Indianapolis today to win the AFC Championship.

Surprisingly, when I  wrote the article earlier, planetsk made some really good predictions:

Given the present form of the teams I think Pats play Colts for AFC and Bears play Cowboys/Seahawks for NFC. So, Colts may have tough road ahead to make it to Superbowl and Pats having successful experience recently at the Bowl can beat any team (IMO) if they make it to Miami.

He got three out of four teams right. Great prediction!

Yeah, great win..may be one of the greatest since Panthers and Pats superbowl…I was so nervous watching the game..very close win..Pats scored just 13 points in the second half. Payton really deserves this win..but only concern I have for Colts is that they will be facing defense of Bears which is really good. However, after this impressive win against their arch rivals, I think, Manning may wear the ring this time. Let’s see whether this prediction comes true 🙂

It was funny. I was in Indiana when the Colts beat the Pats. The next day, all local grocery stores were full of blue and white balloons. Moreover, Colts caps which were $9.99 before the win jumped to $14.99 after it. At Indy airport, some people at the counters were dressed in Colts uniforms.

Now I need to find a team to root for next year. Maybe the Chargers or the Bengals. Anyway, why doesn’t Favre retire?
